Our Venice Wine Experience at Seaside & Co

We stopped in on what we assumed would be a quiet Sunday afternoon, only to find the wine bar buzzing! It’s always a good sign when a newer spot is already drawing a crowd, and the lively atmosphere immediately set the tone for the afternoon.

We were greeted by Winter, the wine host, who makes everyone feel welcome. She knows the wine list inside and out, happily offers recommendations, and greets everyone with an infectious smile. Ask her about their wines and she can answer your questions and enthusiastically talk about how the wines are intentionally selected from a boutique distributor. You won’t see these wines on every list in town.

🍷 Tip: When you catch it during a quiet hour, it is well worth pulling up a chair just to enjoy a glass and a chat with Winter if she’s there!

The wine list is a great addition to our area as it’s got some great wines and uncommon selections. I decided to try something completely new – a Nascetta, a rare native grape from Italy’s Piedmont region that I’d never experienced before. And I am so glad I tried it!

The Daniele Conterno Nascetta was a spectacular discovery. Daniele Conterno’s Nascetta is a bright, aromatic white from Italy’s Piedmont region, showcasing a rare native grape that’s gaining well-deserved attention. It was all vibrant citrus, white peach, and delicate floral notes balanced by crisp acidity and a refreshing mineral finish.

Since my Partner in Wine was celebrating an upcoming birthday, he decided to treat himself to a couple of pours.

  • Pour 1: Diamandes Malbec – A bottle we’ve loved before that beautifully showcases the elegance of Argentina’s high-altitude Uco Valley (which brought back wonderful memories of our trip there!). It delivers ripe blackberry and plum flavors layered with hints of violet, spice, and silky tannins that linger through a smooth finish.
  • Pour 2: Oak Farm Cabernet – Sourced from California’s Lodi region, where warm days and cool evenings preserve impeccable balance. He noted rich layers of blackberry, black cherry, and cassis, beautifully accented by notes of vanilla, cedar, and baking spice.

Between the thoughtfully selected wines and the beautifully curated boutique, Seaside & Co delivers on both halves of its concept. My Partner in Wine left with more than just a happy palate – he also found a couple of great additions to his wardrobe.

🍷 Our Final Pour Wrap Up

Seaside & Co is a welcome addition to the Venice area/Wellen Park wine scene. Florida’s summer heat had us choosing the air-conditioned interior over the patio during our visit, the bright coastal atmosphere made it easy to linger. But the outdoor seating area, and rumors of a new patio being added, had us picturing ourselves returning on a crisp fall afternoon, relaxing outside with a glass of wine in hand and a new outfit waiting in the shopping bag at our feet.

Between the thoughtfully curated wine selection, welcoming service, and boutique shopping experience, it offers something refreshingly different from a traditional wine bar. Whether you’re meeting friends, searching for a new favorite bottle, or simply looking for a relaxed afternoon outing, Seaside & Co is well worth adding to your Wine Spot Wednesday list.

The list is wonderfully uncommon, Winter is delightful, and the vibe is pure Florida coastal perfection.

🥂 Salud to Seaside & Co – we will see you again soon!
