If you haven’t popped into Venice Wine & Coffee Company yet—what are you waiting for? This cozy wine and coffee bar at Nokomis and Venice Avenues is pure Venice charm. Whether you’re caffeinating with a creamy latte or winding down with a perfectly poured glass of vino, this is one of our favorite spots (although we usually opt for the vino!). It’s usually a laid-back little escape from the day, but last night we found ourselves caught up in the Halloween madness downtown 🎃

Picture this: we head out thinking we’re going to chill for a bit with an evening breeze off the Gulf, and a glass of wine at one of our favorite spots…. and instead we run into a gaggle of ghouls and goblins, and (wait for it…) a Corgi parade just wrapping up! There were adorable corgis everywhere. (but honestly, if there’s one thing we love as much as vino, it’s puppers. 🐶🍷) If you’re all about corgis, or just like to smile, check them out on Facebook!

Sit at the bar or outside at a table, we love the options – especially this time of year when the weather is Venice perfection.

What We Love:
Dave! Stop by one evening and spend an hour (or two!) chatting and sipping with him—you’ll see why this is one of our favorite local hangs. Then, take a sunset stroll to dinner or wander toward the beach.

🍷 Event: Rumours Wine Bar Wine Tasting

Date(s): Saturday, November 8, at 2pm OR 4:30pm
Location: Rumours Wine Bar, Englewood

The Deets:
Join the Rumours tasting to enjoy 4 Italian wines in this tasting event! They offer two seatings (at 2 or 4:30pm) which is great if you want to hit the beach in the early afternoon and THEN head to the tasting. You do have to call for a reservation, so be sure to do so to save your seat!

What We Love About It:
We love Rumours! It’s such a cozy spot (and there is plenty of parking)! Leann and Patrick are fabulous, and their tastings are always fun.

🍽️ Event: Côté France Wine Pairing Dinner

Date(s): Wednesday, November 12, at 5:30pm
Location: Downtown Venice — Côté France Restaurant

The Deets:
This is one of Venice’s favorite recurring wine dinners at an incredible French restaurant right in downtown Venice. Enjoy a four-course meal, each paired perfectly with a complementary wine. It’s elegant, intimate, and oh-so-French.

What We Love About It:
The food and the wine — obviously! The staff is wonderfully accommodating, and they’ll happily adjust for food preferences if you call ahead. Plus, the location is perfect for a post-dinner stroll through our awesome downtown.

🍇 Event: Wellen Park Wine Festival

Date(s): Saturday, November 15
Location: Downtown Wellen Park

The Deets:
The second annual Wellen Park Wine Festival is back and bigger than ever! Sample wines from dozens of vintners, enjoy small bites from local restaurants, and sway to live music under the beautiful Florida sky. And if you’re new to wine (or just love learning), there’s even a morning Wine 101 session.

What We Love About It:
The festival vibe! Great wine, great weather, and a fun, social crowd. Plus, we love that they offer a Designated Driver ticket option so everyone can enjoy safely.
