A little chaos in our week last week left us on the island at dinner time, and it turned into the perfect evening to enjoy a sip at Fins at Sharkey’s, one of our favorite wine and dine spots in the area (and also in our local wine guide)! And while it was a little drizzly off and on, the evening cleared up and turned it into one of those Venice sunsets that will never get old.
A couple of sips, a delicious bite or two, and an evening stroll on the beach was just what we needed. And we were rewarded with a few shark teeth and some great pics to wrap it all up. This is exactly what we love about our city on the Gulf.

Quick Facts:
- Location: Venice Fishing Pier on Venice Beach
- Details: Website
- The Vibe: An upscale, yet casual dining spot
- Food: A full menu of great food. From appetizers to steak to sushi, they have something for everyone.
- Specialty: The view! Fins has the best sunset views around, and with the Fins Frenzy from 4-6pm, you can enjoy happy hour options at their bar or on the deck (We vote for the deck every time!).
Ambiance:
Fins is the perfect mix of upscale and casual. Sitting right on the beach, we’ve rolled in wearing flip-flops and shorts, yet you’ll just as easily see guests in their dinner finery. With one wall dedicated entirely to windows overlooking the deck and the Gulf, there truly isn’t a bad seat in the house—especially if you’re as mesmerized by those Venice sunsets as we are.
Whether you just want a nice glass of wine, or a full meal, they offer options for all of us. We often stop in for a glass of wine and some sushi, but my partner in wine swears by the pork chop! We’ve never had a bad meal at Fins, so start with a glass of wine on the deck and stay for dinner if you’ve got the time.
Why Visit:
- The view! The location! Roll in from a walk on the beach or the pier, or take a moonlit stroll post-sip
- Fins Frenzy – their happy hour has great drink and food specials and is available on the deck or at the bar
- Great wine – Whether by the glass or bottle, the list always has something interesting. The Vinho Verde or Albariño are crisp, coastal-perfect whites, while the Fitch Mountain Cabernet remains a reliable, bold red ideal for a sunset sip
- Great food – we’ve never had a meal that disappointed us
- Great service – the team at Fins is always professional and friendly
🏝️ Our Venice Wine Spot Wednesday Experience at Fins
You cannot go wrong with Fins! In addition to a great spot for a glass of wine or a full meal, we’ve enjoyed several great wine dinners at Fins. Keep your eye out on their Events Page. We would definitely recommend signing up for a wine dinner – we’ve met some great winemakers at these events, and enjoyed their wine and food pairings. They sell out fast, though, so if you see one and are interested, book it quickly!
🍷 Our Final Pour Wrap Up
We recommend you make a visit to Fins, start with a glass on the deck, and then enjoy a great meal with them. Wrap up your visit with a stroll on the pier or the beach. It’s really the quintessential Venice evening.
