🌴 Wine Spot Wednesday: San Marco of Venice

This week’s Wine Spot Wednesday is celebrating San Marco Italian Restaurant on Venice Avenue. This is a special spot for us – it was the first restaurant we ever ate at in Venice! It helped cement our love for this town and remains a source of happy memories for your wine-loving neighbors.

San Marco of Venice Restaurant right on Venice Avenue

San Marco of Venice is the perfect spot for a sip and bite while strolling Venice Ave!

Quick Facts:

  • Location: Downtown Venice, right on Venice Avenue
  • Details: Website
  • The Vibe:  A fun Italian restaurant with sidewalk seating and a lively bar
  • Food: Delicious Italian food! (We recommend the rigatoni with lemon pesto!)
  • Specialty: A perfect spot for a nice meal and a decent bottle of wine before or after enjoying all that Venice Avenue has to offer!

Ambiance:

San Marco is a cozy and inviting restaurant in the perfect location for an evening stop. Whether you’re up for dinner or just a glass or wine, it’s an ideal spot. With sidewalk tables, a large inside dining room, and a roomy bar, it has all of the bases covered. It’s got a fun energy and we always enjoy relaxing at San Marco!

We’ve always enjoyed sipping a glass of wine and chatting with others at the bar – including the bartenders!

Why Visit:

  • The location is perfect if you’re strolling Venice Avenue! If you can’t get enough, pick a sidewalk table so you don’t miss a minute of the action
  • The bartenders are top notch! Jessie and Savannah are the nicest and make their busy job look effortless (although we know it’s not!).
  • It’s a great spot for delicious Italian food and a nice wine selection.
  • Their happy hours and wine dinners are not-to-be-missed!

🏝️ Our Venice Wine Spot Wednesday Experience at San Marco

We love stopping in and grabbing a seat at the bar for a casual meal or glass of wine, or choosing a sidewalk table if we’re dining with friends.

We recently stopped in for a glass or two and really enjoyed a glass of Las Veletas, a Chilean blend of Petit Verdot and Cab Franc…and of course we would! As big fans of both varietals, we knew we couldn’t go wrong! It’s definitely worth a try.

They also offer the SuperUco Gualta by the bottle. It’s an Argentinian blend of Cab Franc and Malbec; while it may not be our “normal” choice in an Italian restaurant, it is definitely on our radar for our next visit! (You may already know by now that we don’t typically fall into the “normal” category!). We have also had their 2023 Paradossa Montepulciano d’Abruzzo in the past and enjoyed it very much.

San Marco also offers wine dinners, so keep an eye out for any of their upcoming events! We’ve been to one and had a great time enjoying their wine and food pairings!

🍷 Our Final Pour Wrap Up

Whether you’re stopping in for just a glass, or for dinner, we love San Marco. With great Italian, a nice wine selection, and awesome bar staff, you won’t go wrong with this wine spot!
